318 Wagram - Gross-Enzersdorf (5 July 1809) [OT2024 - QuarterFinal - 1st game]
French(A) 6 - Austrians(Gonzo) 1
12    blocks lost      36

French push from the Center towards their Left was followed by a pincer attack of the cavalry in the Center.
A strong starting hand aided by lucky dice have sealed French victory.

318 Wagram - Gross-Enzersdorf (5 July 1809) [OT2024 - QuarterFinal - 2nd game]
French(Gonzo) 6 - Austrians(A) 3 (2+1) Conceded
15    blocks lost      15

The French advance was gaining momentum slowly, till it transformed into an avalanche.

Joe played well in both games and maintained his humor despite all the circumstances. Kudos for his resilience and sportsmanship.
Had some issues with Version 5, so we reverted back to 4.1.16. Then our first game was interrupted with a server maintenance. Then we encountered an anomaly with the decks in mid-game in our second battle.

Hi Steve,
I'm having some trouble converting VLOG files to video clips.
May I ask you what version of Vassal and what version of the module you were using during the game?
Thanks
Ale

QF Game 1
 Austrians – Dawnreader/Alex; 4 banners taken, 21 blocks lost
French – Steve T; 6 banners taken, 32 blocks lost
Alex’s Austrians reinforced the centre with LGM, and brought their left flank inwards. After some skirmishing, my French attacked Gross Enzerdorf with assault left flank followed by forced march centre and bayonet charge. This was the high water mark of the French advance, with 2 town hex banners and 3 Austrian infantry units destroyed for 1 French (1-5). A melee attack against lone leader Reise for the last banner failed, and the French were scattered and depleted. The Austrians rapidly gained 3 more banners before I was able to gain the last one (4-6) in a Pyrrhic victory. QF Game 2
Austrians – Steve T; 6 banners taken, 29 blocks lost
French –Dawnreader/Alex; 4 banners taken, 28 blocks lost
This battle started disastrously for my Austrians, with a direct hit on the magazine of the cannons on the Austrian right at long range with bombard destroying the battery (3 hits from 3 dice!), and with the centre battery nearly destroyed over two turns. Against this Austrian ranged fire was abysmal. The tide turned with a nearly but not quite successful French cavalry charge, and two Austrian scout cards each for a banner. The French left attacked strongly towards the town, but not enough: at the end the Austrians had 2 scout banners and 4 unit banners, and the French 2 town banners and 3 unit banners. Thanks to Alex for a pair of very challenging games!
