Thanks Michal. I hope to organise the next tournament with the French, perhaps after the Ancients OT.

Hello guys,

I was just thinking about the two of you yesterday, congratulations to both for an eminently enjoyable final match.

I think The Great War is a great addition to the system and a lot of fun; I admit I still like Ancients a bit more all-around, but TGW is following closely. I hope to play it more face-to-face, if not else to fully enjoy the miniatures.

Thanks to everybody involved, and a particular thanks to Mark for his work. See you on the next battlefield.

The Finals - Game 2

MichalK (German) 8
Viridovilas (British) 10

Finally, we got to play our game. Sorry for the delays…

The battle was mainly fought on the South bank of the St. Quentin canal, where Brits quickly took advantage of the few German units behind the bridges after an initial too reckless advance on their right. Afterwards, one MkIV tank on the British left crossed the bridge and cautiously advanced on the open field. Despite the German fierce resistance, after a few crossfires the British finally took the field.

Thanks Michal for the game!

Note: there are two small errors in the module

1. Special personnel figures to deploy are 3 for each side and not 2 as indicated on the board (we played both the battles with the right number)
2. The British tank on the right is a male MKIV and not a female one as wrongly deployed on the Vassal field (we played it wrong both time)

I agree with Michal,

Pls only be patient for about 10 days, since I’m currently leaving for work for a week or so.

I’ll contact Michal as soon as I’ll be back, in order to fix a day for the battle.

We will simply play a rematch and start to worry if the 19-9/10-7 result makes a difference.
gcallarigw replied the topic:

No answers from Richard Borg, so I’d say 10-7.
Mark-McG replied the topic:

So what was the resolution here and when is the return match being played?

You can PM Richard Borg on BGG

That was my idea, too… Just done.

I'll search more thoroughly and let you know.

You can PM Richard Borg on BGG or other medium and you should get answer pretty quickly. I am a bit puzzled with whole situation but seems that 10-7 is correct interpretation (although not wished by me :) ).

I agree, simultaneous gain and loss of medaals

Sorry the actual score of the above mentioned match is German 10 - British 9 or 7 not 8 or 6 (can’t edit the text from my iPad)!

The Finals - Game 1

MichalK (British) 8 or 6 (???)
Viridovilas (German) 10

Please see the attached log. Me and Michal have been puzzled by a strange final: German has won by killing a British unit that was occupying a town hex. Being that hex vacant, the British should have also loosed the 2 VPs for controlling the town. We just know that the game ends at the instant the last unit is killed, but in the same instant the losing side has also lost the town control... How this situation is supposed to be ruled?

I hope to have been not too cryptic :)

If any has an idea (or the official rule interpretation) please share it with us
