GI 03 Battle of the Volturnus 554 AD

I have played the original version a couple of times of PBEM.

First game; Alemanni were able to charge warriors in the centre from turn 1. The attack was sustained over subsequent turns and Byzantines did not intervene with cavalry until later in the game. Consequently, the Sinduald did not join the fight.
Alemanni win: 7-3




Second game; Alemanni attacks were somewhat piece-meal whilst Byzantine cavalry was more active in combination with infantry to harass and counter the attacks. Sinduald soon arrived and played a role in the final stage, countering Butilinus' heavy infantry to gain the last banner.
Byzantine win: 7-2




Now starting a couple of games with the updated version. It PBEM one game at a time so I may be sometime before the next update.

thank you for the report. I finally see an Alemanni victory! I attach the vassal file of the version I'm testing now



I've reduced Byzantine strength and replaced a heavy with a medium infantry in the Ostrogoth army. In my games, the heavy infantry was basically always forgotten in the rear.
