MT20 Epic scenarios

EPIC05 Raab (14 June 1809)

Gileforn (French) 10 banners 57 blocks lost

This was a hard fought battle, the Austrians benefited from two scout plays and two banners for holding their side of the stream, otherwise was a very even battle despite the 17-10 result.

French led off pressing the left and right flanks. Too much going on in this battle for a full blow by blow, but the French had a slow start with the dice, the Austrians took an early lead on the right flank in the cavalry battle there. Action moved to the center with some French success with BC and Force march that left the Austrians in a desperate desperate situation. A timely Grand Man. play removed two 1 block units from immediate danger and firmed up the Austrian position, which otherwise would have been shattered. The battle then raged across all sections, with pretty even exchanges but as mentioned ath the start, the four objective banners helped the Austrians secure the win. Andrey is a fine opponent and great player and a good sport. I look forward to playing him again!
