This scenario would seem ideal for a Night Attack rule / mechanism similar to that used in Memoir '44. I wonder why none was developed?

Just won with the Allies and used a old tactic, which have been used already by
"Alexander the Great"
in the Battle of Gaugamela
and also later by "Frederick the Great"
in the Battle of Leuthen,
called the "Oblique order" or "Denied Flank".

Starting with a withdraw on the spanish flank, move them to the Center.
In further turns the Allies right flank moved forward and destroyed the French left flank. Then the Allies right flank swiveled in to the Center and could destroy at last the French Units, which are compact in meanwhile on there right flank.

6-4 French. It could have easily gone the other way, a well crafted scenario.

Allies win 6 to 3 after 10 turns. General Habert is killed during the battle. Fun scenario!
