Round 1
Scenario 418 Ligny
Theiman (Allies) 4 Banners won, 38 blocks lost
Mark McG (French) 8 Banners won, 15 blocks lost

The cards set the pace in this scenario, with the French having a very ordinary hand, whilst the Prussians had the big name cards. Thom tried to make an advantage of this by charging over the Brook with infantry and cavalry, but the French could take the hit and dished back double with a very useful Elan card. An aggressive Prussian strategy backfired, with many Prussian dead on the field.

Prussian 4 banners came from 2 French dead, both died in towns, and 2 Group victory banners. French 11 banners came from the dead.

Round 2
Quatre Bras
Scipio (Allies) 9 Banners won, 29 blocks lost
Grondeaux (French) 4 Banners won, 43 blocks lost

A hard game for France, firing a lot of wet powder even as the Allies brought their guns to the front right away and pounded away.

Round 4
420 Wavre (18 June 1815)
Theimann (Allies) 8 Banners won, 27 blocks lost
Grondeaux (French) 7 Banners won, 34 blocks lost

Well, this was a scenario that the Allies rarely win. Both sides advanced in a tentative manner. Suddenly the French charged forward! The Prussians where ready and there was a bloody mess to sort out by the afternoon.
The French took this opportunity to advance their Cavalry while the Prussians adjusted their line. The French Cavalry advance caused much chaos in the Prussian command, but the Germans regrouped and repelled the French advance.
Meanwhile, the French forces at Waterloo are waiting and waiting, the Prussians have stalled long enough (2VP), two final assaults are made and the Prussians win the day. These French units will not see their Waterloo.

This was a close run thing, Thom deserves some sort of Napoleonic bobble for this one.

Round 4
420 Wavre (18 June 1815)
MichalK (Allies) 8 Banners won, 27 blocks lost
Plainscape (French) 6 Banners won, 25 blocks lost

That was very interesting game. I was lucky to have 3 scout cards and be able to repell attacks on my center and rigth flank. But most interesting fight took place on my left, where French breached the river, although were repulsed couple of times only to take bridge and Town again. At some moment in time it was 7-7 and only nice volley of Prussian LN (4 INF hits on 4 dices) finished teh game with above result. very thrilling scenario...

hey guys

typically I am a reliable and timely online player, but real life job has been a bear lately as i have had to switch call nights a bunch this month to clear my schedule to take family to daughters volleyball nationals next month. i am finding free time in super short supply. i did not realize work would get so crazy. i sent a note to Mark asking to withdraw from mt14 and let someone else take my place. if thats not possible, ill see what i can work out, but i did not want to hold things back and keep disappointing/rescheduling with opponents. i have let one opponent down twice this week already.

sorry!

well, if I'm not officially replaced, I was finally able to play.

If I am replaced, no problem :)

Played Waterloo with Plainscape, and despite me standing him up twice  and despite awful connection problems, we completed the battle.

Logfile was lost from my side in the mayhem, but perhaps he could post it.

Waterloo B015

The battle went poorly for the French on the allied right flank when initial moves met some harsh fire which ultimately led to the french having several INF severely weakened, the HA getting charged and eliminated, and some CU units finding themselves boxed in against an INF assault from the woods they could not retire from. On the opposite flank, the FR captured their objective and held it with a 1 strength LN. The YG got bloodied terribly and retreated, but not before demolishing a squared british LN unit on the hills. An all out assault in the center met stiff BR resistance and gunfire sent the attackers backwards. In the end, several allied casualties were handed out by the FRENCH GHC and OG units who went on solo assaults to good effect, but it was just not quite enough.

Final:

Allies (Tarheel): 8 flags (33 blocks lost)
French (Plainscape): 5 flags (53 blocks lost)

NOTE:
What the heck is the deal with the Impetuous CAV rule? It seems to me that the spirit of the rule is that the CAV should keep moving forward, but the rules seem to not prevent it being able to return to the starting hex. It only came up once, and we chose to meet in the middle and allow it to make a lateral move. That rule should be a bit more clear.
