I've made the substitutions on the schedule
www.commandsandcolors.net/napoleonics/ar...mt15-tournament.html

Brad, I believe you are finishing the game with Michel K?

Otherwise please contact your opponent to arrange matches. I'd like to see the heat matches played by the end of January if possible.

Good luck to you all.

Glory is fleeting, but obscurity is forever.

Round 2 503 Souraren French Left
Greg O (Allied) Player 9 banners won 42 blocks lost
plainscape (French) 8 banners won 39 blocks lost

Great fight with the French striking first on the right and pushing back all Allies, doing the same on the left, and then hitting hard in the Center. Allies survived the battle with a Grand Man. relocating the two arty units to the central hill which eventually picked off two 1 strength French LN units in single turn for the win.

Oppi,

Thanks for taking over! I hate letting people down, so this is great you are willing to step in.

Get with Michal and see if you want to finish the scenario he and I started or if he is willing to play it from the beginning with you. I am pessimistic about being able to finish it with him after all. Nex 3 weekend are tied up completely. Game started with a well planned attack on the left, wit good support cards but foiled with bad dice and with him having timely first strike supported by 2 x bayo charge. Like 5 banners or 6 to 3 i think. French will prob lose but gives you a chance to practice. If he is feeling friendly, he may let you just start a new battle.

As my game with Brad (Tarheel) is in a state which (almost ) inevitably leads to Allies win, I suggest I play with Oppi from beginning rather then finish the scenario. That wuld not be fair to Oppi to present him with situation we both produced.

Oppi,
what is your time zone and email? Could you share it here or (if you preffer) send to Mark so he distributes via email to players you are supposed to have game with.

Mihal and I agreed to play on Monday 2100 GMT. If the stars align right, we might play Sunday rather spontaneous. Thanks for having me in the Tournament

M503 - Sorauren (French Left) - 28 July 1813

British (Michal) - 4 Banners won, 30 Blocks lost
French (Todd) - 9 Banners won, 29 Blocks lost

French began the game attempting to make a charge up the right flank, having a hand almost exclusively comprised of right flank orders, but never could make any headway before being shot down. British quickly established a Grand Battery on their right flank and fired away whenever the cards and pace of the game allowed.

Eventually, the French lost patience and made a Grande Manoeuvre that was equal parts idiocy, bluff, and cunning. Bluff and cunning made up for the idiocy part, and the French were able to hold the hills, and then eliminate the British troops who tried to retake them.

Block count is more indicative of the margin of error in this game than the banner count - easily could have remained a British slaughter of the French.

Well played, Michal.

Thank you Todd for report. The game was tense, and both side tend to avoid mistakes (although some impatient moves from French side resulted in 2 or 3 units reduced to 1 block). In the end, French melee advantage plus sheer numbers prevailed. Good game and Todd as always very demanding opponent.

504 Göhrde (18 September 1813)

Prussians (Michal) - 8 Banners won, 23 Blocks lost
French (Tim - asyncritus) - 3 Banners won, 35 Blocks lost

I played it completely differently than my usual style of play. Very quickly, thanks to forced march, 10 infantry units of allied coalition approached hills. Then firing duel started, which initially resulted in draw, but if you have numbers, you can lose units. Then allies prevailed, reducing many French units to 1 block and finally finishing them off.

Very interesting and good game although very hard for French. Good play by Tim even in desparate moments...

Round 1
502 Sorauren - French right early afternoon (28 July 1813)

British (Michal) - 9 Banners won, 20 Blocks lost
French (Oppi) - 4 Banners won, 38 Blocks lost

Game started with positioning both sides - both Allies and French set-up positions just outside firing range. Some skirmishes took place, some causalities were inflicted. And then it started - French attack on Allies right (where Portuguese defended hills). With help of cavalry French pushed far into hills but then Forced March from centre was played twice by Allies (specifically kept for that occasion) which annihilated French left. Leader almost escaped - one lc1d too much..

Then, with significant manpower advantage, Allied started to attack. However, in the meantime they were surprised by fantastic roll done by French LI (4 INF figures in range combat on 5 dices). That was slightly too late unfortunately.

PS. Unfortunately, I was disconnected near the end of the game thus log is not complete.
PS2. Seems that would be it for me in MT15. Thanks for good games and see you in MT16!
